Passport is the document which is primarily used for the purpose of international travel, although it is also a critical of identification and citizenship. The following classes of passports may be issued under this Act, namely: -
  • Ordinary passport.
  • Official passport.
  • Diplomatic passport.

Other classes of travel documents may be issued under this Act, namely:-

  • Emergency certificate authorising a person to enter India.
  • Certificate of identity for the purpose of establishing the identity of person.
  • Such other certificate or document as may be prescribed.
  • Issue the passport or travel documents with endorsement, or, as the case may be, make on the passport or travel document the endorsement, in respect of the foreign country or countries specified in the application.
  • Refuse to issue the passport or travel document or, as the case may be, refuse to make on the passport or travel document any endorsement. The Refusal of passports, travel documents.etc. Subject to the other provisions of this Act, the passport authority shall refuse to make an endorsement for visiting any foreign country under various reasons.
  • The passport authority may impound or revoke a passport or travel document or various reasons as mentioned in the Act.

  • Impounding of passport.
  • Refusal to grant pass port.
  • Withholding the pass port.
  • Any dispute relating the pass port.
